Hi, I'm Andrew McCarthy. I graduated from the Computer Studies and Mathematics Faculty at the University of the West of England, Bristol, with a 2:1 honours degree in Computing for Real-Time Systems.
You can check when I last logged on.

My dissertation at university, was in Natural Language Processing, using Chomskian grammar. I've written a simple parser/phrase-tagger in Prolog, and still hope to build on this base when I have more time and a slightly better computer. I guess you'd like to know a little more about me: I'm originally from St. Helens, Merseyside. and currently living in Bristol, I've been down in Bristol for about seven years, ever since I started my course in Computing for Real-Time Systems. Oh, and I've finally scanned the pictures taken at the CRTS Barbecue.

The first computer I ever had was a Dragon 32. I still have it at home. (the reports that my sister had thrown it out were unfounded. Hurrah! ;). In later years I bought a Commodore 64 (I'm planning to get it running either LUnix or ACE). Now I own a 486 DX2 66 which itself is beginning to look a bit dated itself these days. :/

I can often be found IRCing on DALnet, using the NICK Wooly.
