(lml Sheepses lml)Wooly

NO I do not shag sheep!
The adjective "wooly" has 3 senses according to WordNet.

  1. flocculent, woolly, wooly -- (having a fluffy character or appearance)
  2. addled, befuddled, muddled, muzzy, woolly, wooly, woolly-headed, wooly-minded -- (confused and vague; used especially of thinking; "muddleheaded ideas"; "your addled little brain"; "woolly thinking"; "woolly-headed ideas")
  3. wooly, woolly -- (covered with dense often matted or curly hairs; "woolly lambs")

Why, when given these three options do people tend to pick a fourth i.e. that I like to have sexual relations with certain kinds of farm yard animal?

I guess it's about time I put this myth to bed; although, I'm sure it will continue to plague me for the rest of my life ;)

Although, there are people that think I can be described using any of the three senses of Wooly given by WordNet
(I know some people would particularly argue for senses two and three), the reason why I originally called myself Wooly has little or nothing to do with my appearence, or the way I easily get confused (no doubt it has played a part in why the nickname has stuck though).

In late 1993 I started using Babble on The ISCA BBS using the name Wooly Back
(I originally come from St. Helens, Merseyside, Wooly Back is the name given to people from that area, like Liverpudlians are called Scousers).

Anyway, I soon started IRCing on EFnet, due to the fact you could only have nine characters for a NICK and couldn't use a space I started IRCing using the NICK Wooly as opposed to Wooly_Bac. I think I toyed with the NICK WoolyBack but it didn't look right with out the space ;) I used the NICK Andreas for a short time but NICK collisions made my life hell :)

With my new found identity I started playing chaos in #Chaos. From here on it gets a bit fuzzy, I moved to DALnet and started frequenting the channels #GB and #British+. In late 1995 #British+ disbanded due to IRC politics, and I moved to #Better_British this channel fizzled out I'm not exactly sure what happened to it, the last time I checked the webpage it still had Christmas 1996 stuff there! From there I wandered over to the so-called sister channel of #Better_British that is #CafeUK. I've since (June 98) moved on from #CafeUK, due again to IRC politics; although, I still have friends who frequent the channel.

Presently I can be found on DALnet moping around on #GB.
